Skills Development
| Knowledge is not considered a skill here at Deep Creek Construction School. A skill is defined in this school as: knowledge that is applied through demonstration to satisfactory results. For example; knowing how to play the piano is easy just hit the right key(s) at the right time. Having the skill to play is different than knowing how to play. And so it is in this way that skills are developed here. | ||
| There are 167 specific skill requirements associated with every operating engineer. These 167 skill have been determined to be so, by competent experts in the construction and mining industries. Deep Creek Construction School has an active advisory committee of contractors and mine mangers who meet twice a year. ( Relevant parties are invited.) They and others have chosen these skills to be those necessary for all who enter the industry having the expectations that some day they will reach the top of their profession. So, lets get to just some of those specific skills. Each graduate has demonstrated to satisfactory results the following: | ||
