About Us
Deep Creek Construction School is a skill development facility created to satisfy the employment needs of the Construction Industry and Mining Concerns – non-union or union. Our program is specifically developed to create a graduate with the skill and training needed to become an Operating Engineer We do not consider knowledge as being a skill. A skill is defined in this school as: knowledge applied through demonstration to satisfactory results.
The program consists of 150 hours of training wherein 167 specific skills are developed. Each skill is explained, demonstrated to the student, practiced by the student, and then demonstrated for proficiency. Each skill is a pass fail where failure is not an option. Every skill (167) must be completed for the issuance of a certificate.
Every Construction Registry has successfully demonstrated proficiency at all 167 skills. And, that proficiency has been demonstrated to 100% satisfaction.
Every construction or mining concern hiring our graduates can expect them to be capable of getting on any piece of equipment (mining or construction) and in a relatively short period of time, become productive with that piece of equipment. That they will operate safely – for themselves, their equipment, and their environment. That they will trust, allow, and participate with you and your program.
Every one of our graduates has been trained well enough to train others. They came to class every day, on time, and were prepared to participate in the program. They all demonstrated eager participation and showed sincere interest in learning the subject material, demonstrating competency with 100% accuracy. They work with others and assist fellow students. This assistance includes training, supervising activities, and evaluating others performances.
They have successfully represented themselves well one-to-one and in front of a group. And, they all possess significant leadership skills. Finally, their strongest asset is their understanding of and dedication to the world around them. They have demonstrated being considerate to others and have applied themselves to the task at hand and following through to completion with satisfactory results.
You are respectfully encouraged to try one out for yourself.
