Each graduate receives a MSHA certificate. This is the only National Certificate accepted by more than 30,000 mines throughout the USA. MSHA training is recognized as the best safety training and the MSHA certificate tumps out all others including the OSHA certificate.

What is an OPERATING ENGINEER?
Those who are capable of getting on any piece of equipment (mining or construction) and in a relatively short period of time become productive with that piece of equipment. You will be trained and certified for life as an Operating Engineer.
WARNING
The State of California, Cal TRANS, recognizes the training at Deep Creek Const. School and accepts the certificate we issued here. What Cal TRANS recognizes and accepts, the counties, cities, and unions in the State will accept as well. Cal TRANS may not recognize a certificate from other schools who may claim to have a "national” certificate. We encourage you to contact YOUR appropriate State employment agency and the Veterans Administration and verify that the school of your choice is an acceptable training facility.
Eliminates Apprenticeship
If you decide you want to work for a union contractor, you may do so by getting on the C list at the union hall. This program eliminates the need for you to go through two or three years of apprenticeship training.
150 hours of Training
The training consists of 150 classroom hours which include 167 competency requirements. The competency requirements are those specific skills that make you an operator. ALL of our graduates have ALL of the skills.
Licensed Contractor Program

Check out the equipment you will be training on. An Operating Engineer can operate anything. Go into the “pictures” portion of our website at www.constructionschool.net. The equipment you will see there is almost all brand new, all in excellent condition, and most of it is CAT equipment. The graduates you see with the equipment are those in their first week of their training. You will be trained on backhoe, skip loader grader, trencher, dozer, wheel loader and excavator.

The Class
The training method used at the school is a Competency Based System of Student Performance Objectives. This method is simple, friendly, and effective.
First: It is explained
Next: It is demonstrated.
Then: you receive supervised instruction/practice.
Next: you practice on your own.
Finally: you are given a specific task to perform. This objective is called a student performance objective.
